Good day world!
Many people may think that if you write a story or a poem your a geek. Some ‘bully’ type people think that if you write poems or stories your a ‘pussy’. But I believe that everyone is equal and that everyone has a beautiful heart! I have always had a passion for writing and reading. I was the 1st boy in year 1 to read a full novel. Ever since then I have always been in the extension classes, as reading and writing are two of my favourite things! Poems are very strong. They often express your emotions, and to do that with a pen and a piece of paper it means you are a very strong person. Poems are very sweet but they can also be very sour. Back in 2005 a man used a poem as a death threat.:
Antonio Batista wrote the poem about Pat Saito, a Ward 9 Mississauga councillor, after he received a property tax bill in 2005 meant for a developer and had trouble sorting out the problem. The poem includes the following passage: “We are going to dig a pothole about six feet long and three feet wide and five feet deep to hide her body and God will take care of Her Soul, but We cannot forgive her for doing nothing.” — Taken from thestar.com
Poems also come in a number of different forms! Just to name a few… Haiku poem, Cinquain poem, and the commonly known Acrostic!
I have written a number of Cinquain poems, but my favourite is one I wrote about the colour Orange. (Colour is spelt right!! In Australia that’s how it’s spelt!) I have actually left my book at school, so when I go there tomorrow I’ll be sure to collect it and type it up!
